El Trial de Espana is America’s oldest and most prestigious non-national Moto-Trials competition and 2020 marks the 50th anniversary of this event. MOTOVENTURES® 350-acre trials paradise is now the permanent home for this event, which is designed as a fundraiser for a team of American trials riders to compete in the annual Trials Des Nations (TDN) competition in Europe.
This unique, annual trials competition features two days of SCTA trials competition for all classes, which on Saturday ends after only two loops at approx. 3pm. At that time America’s Top Pro trials riders will compete on five especially hard sections set up just for them near the pits by Geoff Aaron, 10-time AMA National Trials Champion. The Pro’s will be competing for a $2,000 purse and their name added to the giant Spanish sword perpetual trophy, which will be awarded at 7pm. Hundreds of spectators will gather around these special exhibition sections to witness up close and personal the incredible riding talent as these young athletes as they climb up seemingly impossible rock faces, while the announcer describes every incredible ride over a PA system.
Following the awards will be SCTA’s famous raffle where thousands of dollars of valuable motorcycle and rider accessories that were donated by many generous companies will be raffled-off to a fun crowd of anticipating winners. There will also be a commemorative t-shirt for sale, all this to raise money for the TDN team.
Saturday evening will be complete with a community campfire and entertainment. Sunday all classes will compete again on 10 new sections and three loops. The event will also feature vendors selling new and used trials gear and trials bikes, vendors selling food and drink, and there may even be a swap meet for used trials parts and gear.
MOTOVENTURES® property is only open for trials riding this weekend. In addition to the usual cost of competing, there will be a $5 per person, per day participant fee and a $10/night camping fee.
Mark your calendars and plan to attend this 50th annual event. This will be your best chance each year to see a trials competition with top US riders that is conveniently located right here in sunny SoCal. For more information go to SoCaltrials.com
